there is a train called change

coming over the mountain

and you already have a ticket

you never needed anyone’s permission

to love in technicolour

it was never a crime

YOU SAY GAY

i hear garden, blooming

i hear sunflowers, reaching

cherry blossom, unfolding

and every shade of petal

dancing under the crisp

morning sun

IN AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE WHERE MY EXISTENCE DOESN’T REVOLVE AROUND THAT GOODBYE

the boy with eyes swimming at me from across the candlelit bar is not a threat / he does not unearth me / he is the exit plan and i welcome him / the boy whispers ‘hello’ and buys me more whisky / ‘hello’ he says and suddenly
